BEST CYCLING CAFÉS IN DERBYSHIRE

BEST CYCLING CAFÉS IN DERBYSHIRE

Where's the best place to stop for coffee and cake when riding around Derbyshire? Here are some of our favourite - tried and tested, by cyclists!

A6 Coffee Co. - Milford, Belper, Derbyshire, DE56 0RN

It had to be at the top of the list - our very own coffee shop based right here at Velo Bavarian...

A6 Coffee Co. has a huge bike rack for cycling groups and club rides, as well as ample on site parking - all in a secure location so you can enjoy your coffee without worrying about safety. South facing, outdoor seating ensures A6 Coffee Co. gets all the sunshine (when it's out), and the menu is full of tasty sweet treats and snacks PLUS energy bars, gels and electrolytes....so there's really no excuse to be bonking on the way home!

There's also indoor seating for winter rides when the weather isn't as favourable and whilst you're there you can see some of the nicest bikes in the world, making A6 Coffee Co. the number one cycling café in Derbyshire!

Watch what Matt Stephens had to say about A6 Coffee Co. here!

Curated especially for cyclists and true coffee lovers, we teamed up with Kickback Coffee, based right next door in the Peak District - to bring the best coffee we could to our customers, because we know better than anybody how much cyclists love coffee!

Manifold Tea Room at Ilam Hall - Ilam, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 2AZ

A cosy cafe set amongst spectacular views of Ilam Park - the ideal stop if you fancy a hilly ride out towards Ashbourne. Plenty to choose from hot and cold food & drinks - our favourite has to be the jacket potatoes - a fantastic option on a chilly day!

Situated on the edge of the peak district, Hassop Station is a hub for all things adventure into the hills of Derbyshire. A great option to park up at and ride some iconic climbs such as Mam Tor and Froggatt Edge making it one of the best cycling cafes in Derbyshire; you can even hire bikes if you wanted to take the family on a day out!

Here's a road cycling route we did starting and ending at Hassop Station, where we stopped for a cracking sausage and egg cob!

A popular cafe stop when cycling around the winding lanes of South Derbyshire - the World Peace Cafe, also known as the Tara Buddhist Centre, serves incredible coffee and cake. A very wholesome atmosphere and friendly staff make this a fantastic cafe to stop at during a social ride.

Our ladies regularly visit the World Peace Cafe, here's one of their favourite routes from VB.

A classic cycling cafe in the iconic village of Beeley, just outside Chatsworth. Roaring fires, delicious food and a beautiful setting - The Old Smithy is 100% one of the best destinations for cyclists in Derbyshire.

Try this route if you want to try some of the best climbs between Derby and Bakewell.

The Cottage Kitchen - Ashbourne Road, Winkhill ST13 7PN

Ok, it may be borderline a Staffordshire cycling cafe but not far outside Ashbourne you can find The Cottage Kitchen - a great cycling stop to big groups due to its size and surrounded by some of the best cycling roads on offer.

We love this route.
